Aletta's parents taught her all about upcycling long before it was necessary or even fashionable. 9 Ways to Get the Word Out About Your Art

Saturday, October 7th

10:00 a.m. - Noon

You always do what you can to make good work and get the word out about your art.  You may want better results, wish it took less time away from the studio and social life or that you'd made more money.

You are in charge of your art but some results, like income, are actually out of your control.  The people who like you and your art enough to open their wallets and give you their hard earned cash are actually in charge of your sales. That doesn't mean  that you should throw up your hands and give up.

9 Basic ways to get more exposure for your art, so you can attract more buyers:

- create a solid body of signature work

- polish your public persona

- manage a qualified mailing list

- photograph and document all of your work

- generate publicity for multiple events

- leverage art business relationships

- market your art in person and in all media

- discover your audience

- be S.M.A.R.T.E.R. about your art business

October 18th- December 6th

Level: Beginner, Ages 9-12

Drawing is the great method of researching, developing and communicating ideas. Observation drawing helps children learn about the world, improves their observational skills, develops creative thinking, and builds confidence. Once we can draw from observation, we need no tricks, no guide books, no formulas and no stereotypes. This 8-week course will involve learning to perceive and draw essential visual elements such as line, shape, form, value, space and texture, and studying ways to organize them. Through gradual building up of drawing skills, students will be guided to a final project at the end of the course.
